I’m Kate Valent, indie writer of all things fantastical. History, magic, and romance play heavily into my writing. My love of tea tends to pop up in my stories too. My whimsical fantasies are cozy, silly, and don’t take themselves seriously.
Before I was an indie author I worked in traditional publishing for half a decade. I apply everything I learned from my traditional publishing career to publishing my own writing. These days my focus is solely on my writing. I love the freedom of indie publishing, and the chance to publish my wacky stories at my own pace.
At the end of the day I’m really just three cats in a trench coat masquerading as a writer. We even had an official portrait made of us, which you can see below. It was painted by artist Inês Dinis.
